If you’re looking for “The Monster Mash,” go away.

For me, October is so much more than just a month of spooks and spirits. It’s a time for warm cocktails, death stares, and temporary acceptance of the color orange.

It’s also a time for new music.

Now, I’m not above a little “Thriller” action during a costume party, but come on, no one wants to listen to Vincent Price’s creepy-ass voice for an entire month.

So instead of going the cliché route, I compiled a list of non-Halloween songs that still capture a bit of the season without being down-right ghoulish. It’s a blend of The Weeknd, a bit of Radiohead, a splash of Banks, and an appropriate helping of Beyoncé.
