Spend a day with PSNY’s Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow

I’ve been a big fan of Public School ever since their first collection for Fall 2014. I was taken by its rich blend of black, gray and navy hues that united seamlessly into outfits of rich texture and sophistication.

Designers Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow are masters of this type of effortless elevation, where by they transform mundane activewear and street clothes into coveted menswear.

Since their debut, the duo have won two CFDA awards, collaborated with Nike and became the creative directors of Donna Karan International. Not bad after only three years in the business.

But perhaps, most impressively, they don’t seem to be phased by the successes.

The fine gentlemen over at Mr. Porter recently shot the video entitled “24 Hours With… Public School” where they caught up with the Osborne and Chow as they prepped for their SS17 show.

The entire film is great, from the black and white filter to the realistic representation of New York. But personally, I think the best part is when the two go to Joe’s Pizza for a slice. There is nothing more quintesential New York than that.
